Fax Marketing (also know as Fax broadcasting) is still very popular despite having been around for many years. It is popular because it offers a cheap and very quick way to reach a targeted audience without wastage.
If you do a Google (UK) search on the terms ‘fax broadcasting’ or ‘fax marketing’ you will find us in the number 1 position, page 1, in terms of natural search – which is the very best place to be on Google. From time to time Google change their algorithms so we try not to become complacent.
Faxing is most often used to send out an advertising message to a select group of businesses or to mail a customer database with say a monthly newsletter or current price list. For example, a car leasing company may be notified Monday morning that a manufacturer has
100 cars to urgently dispose of at a special rate. The leasing company could advertise in the local/national press two or three days later, but in order to get the jump on its competition it quickly prepares a fax notice and within an hour or so we can have that notice in the hands of 50,000 or more businesses throughout the UK.
Companies that do not wish to receive faxes can register their fax number with an organization known as the Fax Preference Service (FPS) and in this way they’ll be taken off marketing databases. There are currently around 260,000 companies in the UK that appear happy to receive faxes and many clients are
pleased with the responses they receive to fax marketing.
In recent years there has been a significant drop in fax marketing costs mainly because phone charges have also been dropping. At the same time the cost of mailing has been increasing and every year 1st and 2nd class postal rates seem to increase. Today it is possible to send an instantly delivered fax to a company for a fraction of the cost of sending a letter. An average (nothing special) mailing piece can easily cost £1 or more when all costs are taken into account and for this amount of money 40 or more faxes can be sent to companies. For a small extra premium, faxes can also be personalized with the name and address of the recipient.
Many of our clients undertake fax marketing purely on a regional basis since their businesses (sometimes a franchise) can only be marketed within the local region. For example if you had a client wanting to send faxes in your area and the total count came to 4,000 then the cost to the client (for this quantity) would normally be 6p per fax (£240) upon which you’d receive up to a very generous 24% commission (£57). The commission on fax marketing sales ranges from 10% - 24%, purely on the basis that we can afford to give more away at the lower volume, higher priced end – whereas on the very high volume side of the business our own operating margin is very slim.
